Somatic Wellness Hub

Welcome

If your nervous system feels like it's running the show and talk therapy, self-help books and trying harder haven't been enough..... then you are in the right place.

This is where somatic healing happens, not just in your head but in your body.

I'm Laura, and I work with people who have spent years holding it all together, managing high-functioning anxiety, navigating neurodivergent nervous systems and surviving by staying in control, who are ready to move from understanding their patterns to actually feeling different in their bodies.

Can you recall a moment when you felt a glimmer of safety or joy amid life's challenges?

Perhaps an afternoon cup of tea..... the warm hug of a friend or loved one..... or curling up with your dog or cat on the sofa (if you have one!).

In these nourishing moments you are experiencing a calm and regulated nervous system, which is how we naturally restore ourselves after times of dysregulation, whether that shows up as fear or anger in stressful situations or as shutting down and going numb when things become too much.

This matters because we need to find safety to feel.

The nervous system will not open to emotion, connection or change until it senses enough safety to do so, which is why this work begins there rather than with pushing into what hurts. And because regulation is something we first learn through connection with another person, I bring my own regulated nervous system to our work together, supporting yours as you find your way back to safety and a felt sense of aliveness.

The HeartSomatics™ Communtiy

If your mind is busy and easily pulled away, sitting still and trying harder to concentrate rarely helps. HeartSomatics™ takes a somatic approach to meditation, finding presence through the body by connecting head, heart and ground, so that stillness becomes something you settle into rather than something you force.

This is the heart of the work. A monthly rhythm of live somatic circles, guided practices and a community learning to feel safe and present in their bodies, not through theory but through practice. And as presence deepens, something quieter begins to reveal itself: a steadier sense of who you are beneath the busyness, what some traditions call our essence nature.

It's for you if.....

🔹Your mind is busy and traditional meditation has never quite worked for you.

🔹You've done the cognitive work and you're still stuck in your body.

🔹You want consistent practice with others rather than another course to finish.

🔹You're ready to find presence through the body, not more information.

What's included.....

🔹Monthly live Co-Connection Circles

🔹A growing resource library

🔹Self-paced teaching modules

🔹An ongoing community space

About

For many years, I lived with disconnection and dissociation. I adapted to survive in ways that left me cut off inside, using alcohol to numb anxiety, quiet my mind and cope with the exhaustion of overworking and perfectionism.

If any of that feels familiar, you're in the right place.

Choosing a different path, a somatic path, changed everything. It became my way back to aliveness, connection and ease.

Now, I help people restore the connection they have lost: with themselves, with others and with life. This is work I've walked myself, and it's the heart of everything I offer through the Somatic Wellness Hub and HeartSomatics™.

I'm a trauma-informed somatic therapist and meditation teacher with over 25 years' experience, including 19 years specialising in mental health, trauma and substance misuse.

I am neurodivergent (ADHD) and, like many people, I fell through the cracks of a system not built to recognise how it shows up in us.

The thread running through all of my work is disconnection and the way back from it. That might look like complex trauma, a neurodivergent nervous system, high-functioning anxiety or recovery from alcohol. It might look like grief that asks to be felt in the body rather than explained, or a spiritual awakening in which intensified energy, sometimes called kundalini or prana shakti, feels hard to ground and integrate.

I know these territories from the inside because I have lived them, and I believe the depth a therapist has met in their own life shapes the depth they can accompany in another's. For those on a contemplative or awakening path, this matters in a particular way: facing our samskaras (the deep imprints of past experience, including trauma)asks for a companion who is grounded in non-dual awareness as well as in the psychology and physiology of trauma, someone who can meet what arises without needing it to be other than it is.

My approach blends body-mind awareness with nervous system regulation and somatic practices that work with developmental and relational trauma (also called complex trauma), the kind that often sits beneath language.

Change doesn't come from forcing ourselves to be different. It comes from creating the right conditions for connection to reawaken, and meeting what's here now so that new experiences of safety, belonging and self-trust can emerge.

This isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about remembering what was never lost.

If something here resonates, the simplest next step is a free connection call (use the book a free call link at the top of the page), where we can talk about what's bringing you and whether this work feels right for you. You're also welcome to email me at hello@laurastarky.co.uk
