Somatic Wellness Hub

Welcome

A brave space to reconnect with YOU - your body, mind, soul and emotions to create a life of balance, freedom and joy

Maybe you’ve spent years pushing through stress, burnout cycles, over-working, ignoring feelings or relying on unhealthy habits to cope.

These patterns may have helped you survive, but over time, they pull you further from the peace and connection you long for.

Healing isn’t about reliving every painful experience—it’s about creating safety, learning to trust yourself and breaking free from old cycles.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to healing that helps you shift out of stress, anxiety and ingrained patterns by working directly with your nervous system, emotions and body - not just your thoughts.

Traditional talk therapy focuses primarily on the mind, but deep healing must also be felt in the body. If we only analyse our experiences cognitively, we risk staying stuck in loops of overthinking without actually releasing the stored emotional and physiological imprints that shape our behaviours.

This is where emotional digestion comes in. Just as our bodies need to process food for nourishment, our nervous system needs to process and integrate emotions, stress responses and past experiences. Somatic therapy supports this natural digestion process, helping you move through what was once overwhelming so you no longer need alcohol or other coping mechanisms to regulate.

During sessions, we blend:

🔹 Somatic inquiry – gently tuning into body sensations and emotional signals.

🔹 Guided nervous system regulation – learning to shift from stress into calm.

🔹 Psychoeducation – understanding how your nervous system, attachment patterns, and emotions influence your coping mechanisms.

🔹 Mind-body practices – breathwork, grounding, movement, and energy work to restore balance and presence.

The goal is to move beyond just understanding your patterns into actually rewiring and embodying new ways of being—so you feel grounded, regulated and free to live a life you don't need to escape from.

Holding Space for Your Healing

Healing isn’t something you force or rush. It’s about creating space for what is present in your system—allowing emotions, sensations and patterns to be seen, heard and moved through in a way that feels safe.

I hold space for this process, meeting you exactly where you are. We work with what arises naturally - without forcing memories to surface or reliving painful experiences. If difficult memories do emerge, you’ll have the support and regulation to allow them to move through to completion in a way that feels safe and manageable.

At times, we may use elements of cognitive work like CBT, but always through a trauma-informed lens, recognising that compulsive behaviours, anxious patterns and emotional shutdown are not flaws - they are your body’s way of coping with stored pain. The goal is not to fix you, but to allow past experiences to complete so they no longer shape your present.

Who I Work With

I support a diverse range of incredible humans, including:

🔸 Coaches, healers and entrepreneurs navigating stress, burnout or emotional blocks.

🔸 Therapists, teachers, carers and helping professionals who give so much but struggle to refill their own cup.

🔸 Yoga instructors and bodyworkers seeking deeper personal healing through somatic therapy.

🔸 Anyone ready to reconnect with their body and emotions and shift old patterns.

Are You Ready for Change?

There are many reasons why someone might seek somatic therapy and it's often the result of a deep sense that something needs to change. If any of the following resonate with you, it might be time to explore how somatic therapy can support you on your journey.

🔸 Stress, anxiety, burnout and nervous system dysregulation

🔸 Depression, low mood and emotional exhaustion

🔸 Trauma healing, complex PTSD and unresolved emotional wounds

🔸 Feeling stuck in cycles of overworking, people-pleasing or procrastination

🔸 Recovering from alcohol or other addictions and breaking emotional habits

🔸Healing from a one-time traumatic experience, such as a car accident or sexual assault

🔸Physcial health challenges especially those related to inflammation in the body

🔸 Navigating and integrating psychedelic experiences including micro-dosing

🔸 Psychospiritual development and personal growth

🔸 Struggles with boundaries, self-care and building self-worth

🔸 Feeling numb, disconnected or lost during major life transitions

🔸 Seeking a holistic approach to healing beyond traditional therapy

Why These Patterns Persist

These struggles often stem from unresolved trauma, early attachment wounds or a combination of both. Our nervous system, shaped by early relationships and past experiences, adapts to help us survive. While these adaptations can be protective at the time, they may also keep us stuck in survival mode long after the original threat has passed.

Your nervous system stores these past experiences, stress and trauma, shaping how you move through the world today. When it's dysregulated, you might feel:

⚡ On edge – Hypervigilant, anxious or in constant overdrive

🛑 Shut down – Disconnected from emotions, people or even yourself

🔄 Caught in cycles – Swinging between high stress and exhaustion.

Somatic healing helps you shift out of these survival responses and build a deep sense of regulation, resilience and self-trust.

Healing Through Body, Mind, Soul & Emotion

I guide people through somatic healing in a way that is trauma-informed, compassionate and deeply personal. This isn’t about fixing you as you are not broken. It’s about reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

Healing is not one-dimensional. The body, mind, emotions and – if it feels right for you – the spiritual aspect, are all interconnected.

For some, healing is purely nervous system regulation, emotional release and trauma integration. For others, it’s also a deeper inquiry into meaning, intuition and transpersonal experiences. The work meets you where you are – whether you’re drawn to a practical, body-based approach or feel called to explore the deeper layers of self-awareness and consciousness.

Healing also involves experiencing pleasure and vitality within the system. When we heal trauma, we not only release what has been stored or suppressed, but we also create space for pleasure, joy and aliveness to emerge. Our bodies hold the wisdom to bring us back into balance and part of the healing process is rediscovering the pleasure of being fully in our bodies, in the present moment. Pleasure isn’t a luxury – it’s a natural part of our system’s ability to regulate itself and return to a state of harmony.

Healing is personal - but its also collective

However, it’s essential to acknowledge that our struggles are not solely personal but are also shaped by systemic oppression, discrimination and societal conditioning. For those affected, systemic oppression whether in the form of racism, sexism, ableism, classism, homophobia or other structural inequalities - can create additional layers of stress, disconnection and emotional suppression. When the world repeatedly tells us we are not enough or that we must prove our worth, it can make healing feel even more complex.

For those impacted by generational trauma or cultural oppression, healing is not just personal - it’s also about reclaiming agency in a world that, in many ways, has diminished or overlooked it. Healing itself can be an act of quiet resistance—challenging the narratives that have sought to define you.

We live in a toxic culture that often defines worth by productivity and external achievement, promoting an unhealthy narrative that we must constantly “do” to be valued. Capitalism, patriarchy, inequality, consumerism and the ideals of individualism can shape how we view ourselves and our capacity for healing. These systems create a pressure to perform, to push through exhaustion, to seek external validation – all of which prevent us from truly connecting with our innate sense of self-worth.

The struggle to “do more” and “be more” is built into the fabric of our society, often leading to burnout, anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. Healing, therefore, requires not only addressing personal trauma but also considering how these societal pressures impact us and contribute to feelings of disconnection, overwhelm and self-doubt. Healing involves not only reclaiming your body, mind and emotions but also reclaiming your worth beyond the mainstream paradigm.

There’s no right or wrong way to heal. I hold space for whatever aspects of this journey feel most relevant to you, whether it’s confronting personal trauma, unlearning harmful cultural narratives or learning how to live in a world that values you for who you truly are, not just what you produce.

The Somatic Wellness Hub: An Integrative Approach

At The Somatic Wellness Hub, we combine three paths for self-healing and transformation:

1. Yoga Nidra

True healing begins with rest. Yoga Nidra helps you calm your mind, reset your nervous system and restore deep inner peace.

2. Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapy

Healing isn’t just about processing emotions - it’s about feeling safe, present and free in your body. Through somatic therapy, we release stored tension, regulate the nervous system and reconnect with the wisdom of the body, so you can move through life with greater ease and authenticity.

3. Somatic Coaching

Whether it’s alcohol, emotional eating or other habits, breaking free from patterns that no longer serve you is much more than willpower - somatic coaching helps you address the root causes of these behaviours, empowering you to make meaningful, sustainable changes and reconnect with a life that feels whole and authentic.

“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening - a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation.”

[Book Your Free Call Now]

A 6-month guided journey for those who are already sober and seeking deeper emotional healing, self-trust and true inner freedom.

You’ve removed alcohol from your life, but something still feels unresolved.

Maybe you expected clarity, peace or ease—but instead, you feel restless, emotionally dysregulated or disconnected from yourself.

Quitting drinking was just the first step.

Now, it’s time to heal the deeper layers—the nervous system imbalances, emotional wounds and self-sabotaging patterns that kept you stuck in the cycle of drinking, anxiety and self-doubt.

This program is for you if...

✅ You’ve already stopped drinking but still feel emotionally overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected from yourself and others.

✅ You’ve replaced alcohol with other coping mechanisms—sugar, overworking, emotional avoidance, or perfectionism.

✅ You feel like something is missing in your healing—a deeper layer still waiting to be addressed.

✅ You struggle with self-trust, boundaries or confidence—especially in social situations.

✅ You’re seeking something more than just sobriety—a life of presence, self-trust and emotional freedom.

Beyond Sobriety: Breaking Free from the Stress-Drink-Suppress Cycle

For many, alcohol was just one part of a bigger pattern—a way to regulate stress, manage emotions or escape discomfort.

Even after quitting, the underlying nervous system patterns remain, leading to:

🔹 Feeling on edge, overwhelmed, or unable to fully relax without alcohol

🔹 Compulsively reaching for external validation, achievements or distractions

🔹 Struggling with boundaries, self-expression or social anxiety

🔹 Losing touch with who you are now that alcohol is no longer part of your identity

✨Awakening helps you uncover and heal the root cause of these patterns✨

Through somatic regulation, emotional processing and nervous system healing, you’ll shift from a state of grasping, avoiding or numbing — to one of self-trust, presence and lasting emotional freedom.

About

I’m a certified yoga and meditation teacher and a trauma-informed somatic therapist in training (full accreditation April 2025). A licensed social worker with over 24 years of experience -18 of those specialising in mental health, trauma and substance misuse.

Whether it’s alcohol, overworking, people-pleasing, emotional eating or any other form of self-soothing, my work is about helping people come home to themselves in a way that feels safe, sustainable and empowering. My approach blends nervous system healing, movement, mindfulness and deep self-inquiry, creating a compassionate space for transformation.

My Philosophy

Healing isn’t just about giving something up -it’s about understanding why we reached for it in the first place.

The habits we struggle with - whether it’s alcohol, stress, perfectionism or avoidance - are often not choices but nervous system adaptations, ways we’ve learned to cope and survive. True transformation begins with reconnecting to the body, calming the nervous system and creating new ways of being that foster safety, balance and resilience.

This is what I call holistic somatic wellness - a way of living that honours the body as sacred, the mind as a tool and the heart as a bridge to your deepest truth.

My Journey

For years, I felt disconnected, overwhelmed and caught in cycles of self-doubt. Alcohol became my way of numbing stress and anxiety, but instead of relief, it deepened the disconnection. Choosing sobriety wasn’t just about quitting drinking—it was about learning how to fully feel, process and integrate what I had been running from.

Through yoga, mindfulness and somatic therapy, I began to reconnect with my body and uncover a sense of purpose I never thought possible. As I deepened my practice, something unexpected happened—I began to experience the energy within my body directly, not as a concept but as a tangible, felt sense of life force ‘prana” itself. This wasn’t an intellectual idea or a belief -it was a direct experience that changed how I understood myself and the world.

Whilst I do not permanently live in an awakened state, I have had authentic glimpses of reality, where the sense of self begins to dissolve. This experience has led to a deepening of my intuition, presence and connection, beyond what the mind can grasp. Awakening is no longer something outside of me, but a process of inhabiting my body fully, listening deeply and allowing life to flow through me

This journey has been messy, painful and confusing at times. But it has also given me a sense of freedom, clarity and joy that I once thought were impossible.

This process of reconnection, healing and self-leadership is what I’m honoured to share with my clients.
